Transforming art experiences for special needs students.
Transforming art experiences for special needs students.
At Beautiful Mind on Fire, our mission is to celebrate the incredible artwork created by special needs students across Lubbock, Texas and surrounding areas. Through our bimonthly (every 2 months) art competition, these talented young artists have the opportunity to showcase their unique perspectives and creativity. Students can submit their original work, completed with minimal assistance from their special education teachers, paraprofessionals, art instructors, or parents (for homeschooled children). The winning artwork will be showcased on merchandise available through this website. A portion of the proceeds will directly support the winner’s special education program, and the artist will also receive a sponsored gift card in recognition of their achievement. Let us all celebrate the creativity and brilliance of these students!
Featured Artist: Sarai Blanco
Sarai is a senior at Liberty Cooper High school. From the beginning she faced the challenges of infantile spasms which severely disrupt brain development. She was later diagnosed with Level 3 Autism. Yet through every trial, she radiates joy, humor and kindness. Life is not without challenges. Words often remain locked inside, unspoken. Each stroke of her artwork is a window into her emotions. Embrace her voice and story by making her art a part of your life.
If you have questions about the opportunities available to you in our program, feel free to send us a message. We will get back to you as soon as possible.
